The Air Table is our new extremely slim, chic streamline design. Although it forms part of our family of contemporary extending tables, the Air table is also available with a fixed top.
With the success of our Infinity Table, in which we pioneered the unique design of the table legs extending outwards, this new design deserves a place in table history! Its long and lean fine lines will extend and streamline any room, with its graceful “waterfall” effect as the wood grain flows over the table edges and down the legs. Cleverly each extension flap extends by moving the legs , thus solving the eternal problem of “there’s a leg in the way”!
As with all of our tables we can make this extending table in either solid oak, solid wild walnut or classic walnut, solid maple or cherry. The wood grain on this table design runs across the table and finishes flush with the table leg end frame. The table top is created by the solid timber running across the table top and then is very skilfully mitred to create the “L” section in which the butterfly flaps are seamlessly housed.
When you wish to extend the table, you simply pull the end leg frame out to reveal the ultra slim table runners, extend the underframe to reveal either one, two or three flaps, and then slide them smoothly altogether to close up. Easy!
When closed, the table is free of any annoying centre joints to trap dirt and distract the eye, and when the flaps are rotated out with the smooth butterfly mechanism, you have no visible changes in the table top side profile, apart from the single joint lines of the flaps, which blend in skilfully with the wood grain direction of the table.
This table is made to incredibly high standards of accuracy, as is all of our furniture, and then very carefully hand sanded, adjusted and fitted. Finally it is lovingly hand polished over and over again to get the perfect finish….. and the best bit....its over £1000 less than our legendary Infinity table design which is now available with three flaps and an extension to 410cm long seating 18 people!
This table style has been designed to complement our dining chairs perfectly. Choose from either the Shortback, Bladeback, or Narrow Willow chairs, or for a more formal taller look, our Taperback chairs. Then choose either our firmer platform seat or our luxurious sprung seat option. You will never sit in more comfortable or well designed dining chairs.
