Extra Large and Wide Dining Room and Kitchen Tables
We all love tables but both customers and table makers alike especially love large, extra large and extra wide dining tables. At Berrydesign we like to challenge nature to allow us to make the longest tables possible, that you can make out of single lengths of solid timber, giving you a masterpiece to treasure for years to come.
Our dining tables are modern and contemporary yet timeless; key to the look of our furniture is the use of large pieces of solid natural pure oak or walnut of the best quality available in the world. Raw material quality is especially important when making such large tables and sets the level for the whole quality of the craftsmanship involved.
With more modern living, more open spaces and contemporary open plan living the chance to create something large and stunning appeals to our love of table designing and when we’ve finished there’s a great satisfaction in having achieved what we have visualised for today’s lifestyles. These extra large and wide tables represent the closest we can get to showing off the full natural beauty of wood. We can work in solid Oak in lengths of up to 400cm as a continuous piece of wood whereas Walnut Maple and Cherry are restricted to lengths of between 320 to 340cm. Extension flaps can be added to these lengths as required. These long lengths of timber really allow you to see the timber in its full beauty and our hand polishing ensures that you see nature at its best.
Proportion and scale are vital during the design process, as is considering the chair height, colour and texture to bring a promise of a sublime contemporary lifestyle. We make large dining room, kitchen and boardroom tables with table legs inset, on the corners, or for maximum leg space, set on stately central pedestals giving a truly magnificent dining experience (see our Regent, Downton and Middleton designs).
Table top thicknesses need to be on the more substantial side to give both the structural strength and visual appearance needed. All our dining and kitchen tables can be made to be extendable and our most popular size is an 8 to 10 seater which can extend to seat 12 to 14. A closed length of 240cm is the minimum length able to seat 4 people on either side of the table with the table width influencing how much space is available for friends and family at each end.
