This contemporary table is designed to bring a light and graceful design to your room, with carefully inset vertical panels acting as legs, in solid walnut or oak, giving the table top a “floating” feel. This new extending table design can be made in solid oak or solid walnut.
By having the super slim vertical leg panels set in from the table top sides, and away from the table ends, creates either roomy seating for friends or lots of space for a large family get together as there are no legs in the way.
What is very exciting about this new “Slide” table is its new extension system design, meticulously engineered to be simple and swift to operate; together with its exquisitely matched grain from the single 60cm extension flap to the main table top. The extension mechanism works with an opening of the table top and a smooth swivel and rotation of the hidden 60cm extension flap, which moves the main table top to a new central position, providing perfectly proportioned equal overhangs over the leg panels both when open or closed. This operation takes 20 seconds and is engineered to be so light that no strength is required at all. A child or frailer adult could easily do it before their kettle has finished boiling!
A 200cm table with 60cm flap would give you a generous 10 seater table when extended and both arm chairs and side chairs have plenty of space underneath the table top as the mechanism is only 4cm deep! Our new bench chairs (eg shortback bench) work particularly well around this table design, as there are no legs to worry about, so it doesn’t matter where the benches are positioned.
