When you are considering purchasing a handmade dining table not many natural woods have the impact and depth of beauty of solid walnut. One of the most magnificent solid woods you can choose due to its colour, texture and strength combined with its stability during and after furniture making, ensures it is a popular and well-informed design choice.
Walnut has a smooth, fine texture and a dense grain, which gives it a non-absorbent, strong surface – perfect to live with as a dining or kitchen table. It has a rich, reddish-chocolate colour that, when hand-polished by our craftsmen, will mean that your walnut table will be the centerpiece of any room.
At Berrydesign we like to use American walnut for our bespoke handmade table designs. A native tree to America, grown specifically for furniture making, these walnut trees are considerably taller than their European counterparts, meaning that we can create beautifully seamless contemporary table designs to impressive scales.
After carefully selecting the finest grade of solid walnut, we choose wood in both classic rich chocolate colours, and also a lighter, golden chestnut sapwood. We then offer our customers the choice of having their table handmade in the traditional darker wood, for a luxurious feel, or else with a striking blend of golden brown, reddish brown and mixed with chocolate brown for a unique, three-dimensional design to your new centrepiece.
